Rivet Clearance Die
Rivet Clearance Die is a common mold accessory used in sheet metal processing, stamping dies, or aircraft riveting processes. Its primary function is to provide space and clearance for rivets to pass through or to accommodate the rivet head.

When a metal sheet already has clinch nuts, studs, standoffs, or blind rivets pre-assembled on it using a clinching machine or stamping, putting the sheet directly on a standard V-die for bending can cause the following problems:
Structural interference: The protruding rivets or nuts can get stuck in the V-slot, preventing the sheet from lying flat against the die shoulders.
Flattening or damaging fasteners: The massive tonnage of the press brake can crush or deform these precision threaded fasteners, rendering them useless.
Workpiece deformation: Uneven local forces can lead to inaccurate bend angles or overall warping of the part.
A Rivet Clearance Die (usually the lower die, though it can be the upper as well) solves this by machining special grooves, reliefs, clearance holes, or stepped depths into the die surface or V-slot, providing perfect 'breathing room' for these pre-installed components.
