2.42CrMo steel is an ultra-high strength steel, featuring high strength and toughness, good hardenability, no obvious temper brittleness, small deformation during quenching, high fatigue limit and multiple impact resistance after quenching and tempering treatment, and good low-temperature impact toughness. It is used to make upper and lower dies for bending machines. The forging billets are quenched and tempered, machined into shape, and then quenched in oil at 860°C After tempering at 390°C, the temperature is HRC48-50°C, with extremely long wear resistance. It is particularly suitable for electro-hydraulic CNC bending machines. Even after long-term use, the uniformity of sheet metal parts is excellent!
3.9SiCr steel is a kind of low alloy tool steel, in which Cr=1% and Si=1.4%. Therefore, this steel has a relatively high hardenability. Silicon can refine carbides. Through reasonable heat treatment processes, uniform and fine granular carbide structures can be obtained. Its performance lies between that of carbon tool steel and Cr12 steel.
When the quenching temperature exceeds 880°C, the bending strength of steel decreases significantly, and the amount of residual austenite also increases considerably. Therefore, the suitable quenching temperature range is 860 to 870°C. For small molds with lower hardness requirements and higher toughness requirements, quenching can be carried out at 840 to 860°C.
